Short answer
Ironlak paint markers are pump action markers filled with Ironlak Fluid water-based acrylic paint, in nibs from 1 mm to 15 mm, and a retailer says they are refillable. Ironlak sells 1, 3 and 7 mm boxes on ironlak.com, which lists worldwide shipping. We found no current Amazon listing; the nearest Amazon matches are Molotow ONE4ALL and Montana Acrylic, both refillable acrylic pump markers.
Who makes Ironlak paint markers?
Ironlak’s own history page calls it “Australia’s first aerosol-art paint brand.” It says the idea came from a young Sydney-based graffiti artist, the dream began in 2002, and the first cans reached the street in 2004. The same page mentions an Ironlak-owned production facility in China. Today the store sells spray paint, paint markers, Strikers graphic markers (alcohol-based, per their product names), artist acrylics, caps and nozzles.
What the Ironlak pump action markers are
- Paint. Sprayism, an Australian graffiti retailer, describes it as “specially designed Ironlak Fluid water based acrylic paint” with “UV-stable, professional artist-grade pigments.”
- Nibs. “Available in a variety of nib options, from 1mm to 15mm,” per Sprayism. Bijan’s Art Studio lists 1 mm, 3 mm, 7 mm and 15 mm (chisel tip).
- Refills. Sprayism says “All of our different Ironlak Pump Action Markers are totally refillable,” and sells Ironlak Fluid Acrylic refills. Ironlak’s store lists an empty marker to fill with your own paint or ink.
- Surfaces. “From porcelain to steel, terracotta to canvas,” plus fabric, skateboard decks and glass, per Sprayism. Bijan’s says indoor and outdoor use.
- Colors. Named colors such as Aspen (white), Roarke (black), Smurf and Volcano, plus metallics, shimmers and fluoros, per the 3 mm box contents.

Questions people ask
Are Ironlak paint markers refillable?
Yes, according to the Australian retailer Sprayism, which says all Ironlak Pump Action Markers are totally refillable and sells Ironlak Fluid Acrylic refills. Ironlak’s own store also sells an empty marker option to fill with your own paint or ink. A Canadian retailer lists refills and replacement nibs too.
Are Ironlak paint markers water-based?
Yes. Sprayism describes the paint as Ironlak Fluid water-based acrylic, with UV-stable, artist-grade pigments, for surfaces from porcelain to steel and terracotta to canvas. That is the retailer passing on the maker’s description; we have not seen a published lightfastness rating. Ironlak’s Strikers graphic markers are a different, alcohol-based product.
Can I buy Ironlak paint markers on Amazon?
We searched Amazon.com in October 2026 and found no Ironlak paint marker listing, only other brands. Ironlak sells its 1, 3 and 7 mm marker boxes on its own store, which lists worldwide shipping, and graffiti and art shops carry single markers. On Amazon, Molotow ONE4ALL and Montana Acrylic are the closest refillable pump markers.
What sizes do Ironlak paint markers come in?
Retailers list nibs from 1 mm to 15 mm. Bijan’s Art Studio names 1 mm, 3 mm, 7 mm and a 15 mm chisel, and Sprayism sells a 3 mm bullet nib. Ironlak’s own store sells 1 mm, 3 mm and 7 mm marker boxes with named colors such as Aspen (white) and Roarke (black).
