Short answer
Artist Concepts markers are dual tip alcohol markers with a fine tip and a chisel tip, sold in sets such as 24, 48 and 160 count at Walmart, and as 16 count blending markers at Five Below (via Instacart). We found no brand website and no Amazon listing. Close Amazon alternatives are fine and chisel alcohol sets from Ohuhu, Caliart and Soucolor. For rocks, wood or dark surfaces, use acrylic paint markers instead.
What are Artist Concept markers?
The brand name on the packaging is Artist Concepts. Every listing we could open describes alcohol markers, not paint markers:
- Tips. Walmart’s 160 count listing describes “a fine tip for intricate details and a broad chisel tip for full coverage.” The other Walmart sets are titled “Fine & Chisel Tips.”
- Ink. The same listing calls them “highly pigmented, alcohol-based markers” that “dry quickly, and resist smudging.”
- Sets. Walmart listed 24 count (square container), 48 count (holiday case) and 160 count (metal case) sets. Instacart showed Artist Concepts Premium Blending Markers, 16 count, from Five Below, with no ink details.
- Pastel sets. Search results also show eBay resellers listing 12, 18 and 36 count pastel dual-ended alcohol sets. We could not open those listings.
We could not find an Artist Concepts website, a maker name on the pages we opened, or an independent review. A different line called Concept dual tip markers is sold by Jerry’s Artarama; it is a separate product, and this page does not cover it.

Artist Concepts vs similar alcohol markers

Alcohol markers or acrylic paint markers?
| Alcohol markers (Artist Concepts, Ohuhu Oahu) | Acrylic paint markers | |
|---|---|---|
| Coverage | Translucent, layers build up | Opaque, covers dark grounds |
| Blending | Smooth, while wet | Layering and wet blending, less smooth |
| Paper | Bleeds; use marker paper | Sits on top; little bleed |
| Rocks, wood, canvas | Poor | Good, seal for outdoors |
| Smell | Alcohol smell | Mild if water-based |
If you came here for acrylic markers, the art markers page compares both types, drawing markers covers line work, and how to blend acrylic markers shows what paint markers can do. Questions people ask
Are Artist Concepts markers alcohol markers?
Yes. The Walmart listings we checked call them dual tip or dual-ended alcohol markers, with a fine tip for detail and a broad chisel tip for coverage, and describe alcohol-based ink that dries quickly and resists smudging. They are not acrylic paint markers, so they behave like other alcohol markers: translucent, blendable and best on marker paper.
Where can I buy Artist Concepts markers?
When we checked in October 2026, Walmart listed Artist Concepts dual-ended alcohol marker sets in 24 and 48 counts, with a 160 count metal case set listed but unavailable. Instacart showed Artist Concepts Premium Blending Markers, 16 count, from Five Below. We could not find a brand website or a current Amazon listing.
How long do Ohuhu markers last?
Ohuhu does not give a lifespan on the listings we checked, and it depends on how much you color and how well you cap them. What the Oahu set listings do say is that the markers are refillable, so a dry marker can be topped up rather than replaced. Store alcohol markers capped and flat to slow drying.
Do alcohol markers bleed?
Yes, on most papers. Alcohol ink soaks through ordinary printer and sketchbook paper and can spread past your lines, so artists use marker paper or bleedproof paper and slip a scrap sheet underneath. Acrylic paint markers sit on top of the paper instead, which is one reason to choose them for journals and coloring books.
Can I use Artist Concepts markers on rocks or wood?
Not well. Alcohol markers are dyes made for paper; on stone they soak in and look faint, and on wood they bleed along the grain. For rocks, wood, canvas or dark paper, an opaque water-based acrylic paint marker covers much better, and you can seal it for outdoor use.
